When in Rome

The past interests me and after watching the movie ‘When in Rome’, I had to visit this beautiful place at any cost. I had been missing love in my life and wanted to find it for myself, like Beth did, in When in Rome. People say that there is something very magical about Rome and hence I booked one of the cheapest flights to Rome. You can avail cheap flights online as there are many cheap airline flights that operate from time to time. Since I was hoping it to be one of the best trips of my life – I shopped for the best clothing, hats, shoes and handbags before going to the lovely place called Rome. I have always been fond of history and had heard that Rome is a very historical place, plus has everything romantic about it. So, I thought why not give it a try? I wanted to go sightseeing, explore the past and meet new people – what could be better than that?

The living history

There is a place in Rome which is a must-see if you are really keen to explore the past. Colosseo is a place that you need to visit when you are in Rome. I did and I loved it! The state of conservation is very good considering the fact that it was built almost 2000 years ago. To maintain such a structure for thousands of years is not a joke. When I entered the Colosseo, I was enthralled by the sight. There was some construction going on and once it will be done – it will be even better in future. Colosseo also known as Colosseum is a very impressive monument of the Roman Empire. I had read about the Roman Empire when I was studying history during high school and had always been curious to see it with my own eyes. I fulfilled my wish to see it. And it was absolutely worth it!

A warm cup of coffee

I love sitting at coffee places with a book. And like all movies that I see, you usually meet new people in coffee places. I chose Café Greco to sit peacefully with a cup of warm coffee. Nothing beats a warm cup of coffee. I sat very snuggly in a corner with my favorite book ‘Love Story’ wondering, when I will have one of my own. Café Greco is the oldest café at Rome and is a must-visit just because of the history. You usually see a great crowd in here. And guess what? I made two very good friends who sat with me and discussed more about Rome and what it has to offer. We talked about the famous pizzas of Italy and the best spaghetti available nearby. We talked about the history of Rome and much more. It was certainly a great decision to come to this superb café.

I had a great time at Rome. It’s like I could give time to myself and take a break from the stress of life. There are many international airlines which go to Rome. You can find various cheap flights to Rome that will give you a great experience. I had fun and want to go back again and again.
